Arts Council of the Valley (ACV) features Kentucky artist Anna Marie Pavlik in a July exhibition at Smith House Galleries. Showcasing printmaking, etching, linoleum cut, and monoprint works, Evocative Etching opens with a July 7 reception during First Fridays of the Valley, 5 to 7 pm. Sponsored by Estland, the reception offers a chance for the public to visit with the artist, enjoy live folk and Americana music by Jane Cox, and sample light refreshments. more

NatureCraft at Hillandale

This workshop will promote painting through mindful, intentional listening. Participants will come to appreciate how certain sounds can move their imaginations and, surprisingly, influence their artistic expressions. To help us understand how sound can influence artistic expression, we will refer to the paintings of Wassily Kandinsky. All materials and tools, including brushes, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic paint, marker pens, and pastels will be provided.
