Arts Council of the Valley (ACV) features Kentucky artist Anna Marie Pavlik in a July exhibition at Smith House Galleries. Showcasing printmaking, etching, linoleum cut, and monoprint works, Evocative Etching opens with a July 7 reception during First Fridays of the Valley, 5 to 7 pm. Sponsored by Estland, the reception offers a chance for the public to visit with the artist, enjoy live folk and Americana music by Jane Cox, and sample light refreshments.
Evocative Etching runs through July 28, with in-person visits Monday-Friday, 11 am to 4 pm. Second Saturday (July 8, 10 am to 2 pm) offers another chance to visit with the artist, and take part in a drop-in workshop featuring a tabletop press and three hands-on activities: drawing on a prepared etching plate, making a pressed foam print, and experimenting with monoprint.
The exhibition will also be available online (valleyarts.org/current-exhibition). Smith House Galleries, located at 311 South Main Street, is supported in part by ACV’s 2023 Cultivating the Arts Platinum Sponsors: James McHone Jewelry, Kathy Moran Wealth Group, Matchbox Realty, and Riner Rentals.
