Shop Small this Holiday For a Chance to Win up to $150 in Downtown Gift Certificates!

Why shop small? You’ll discover quality, one-of-kind, artisan items that you won’t find anywhere else. You’ll receive personalized attention from small business owners and employees who are knowledgeable about the products they sell. Most importantly, you’ll make a significant impact on our community by investing your money locally. By shopping small, you’re investing in our schools, roads, and other services we use daily.

And on top of that, we’re making shopping small even sweeter for you! Each week in December we’re drawing two lucky winners to win big in downtown gift certificates. Here’s what we’re giving away each week:

We are experiencing Technical Difficulties with Our Texting Line

How to Enter:

  1. Support Downtown!
Shop or dine at any downtown merchant or restaurant (in-store or online). See our holiday gift guide and downtown directory for inspiration!
Each $25 spent counts as an entry! So, for example, if you spend $77 at one store or restaurant, that will count as three entries. The grand total, after taxes, tips, and shipping, is what is counted.
  2. Submit Your Receipts:
Take a photo (or screenshot) of your receipt and email it to, or DM it to @downtownharrisonburg on Instagram.
Shopping online? Forward your order confirmation showing $25 or more to Online receipts must be dated 11/27/2021 or later.
  3. See if You Win!
Each Monday during the campaign period we will draw random winners from receipts submitted during the prior week to win the prizes listed in the schedule above. Entries for the December drawings must be submitted by 9am the Monday of the drawing to be eligible for that week’s drawing. So if you have your eye on a Magpie Diner gift card for example, make sure you email your receipts in after 9am on 12/15 and before 9am on 12/22! Prizes are not able to be swapped or substituted — if a winner does not wish to claim their prize, a new winner will be drawn.
