Owners Kirk and Tina Miller found inspiration in hiking the Appalachian Trail and decided to open a shop dedicated to hiking, camping, and backpacking, as well as sharing their knowledge and passion for the outdoors with their customers.

The staff are experienced hikers and outdoorsy so they are not just helpful but very knowledgeable. The shop carries a variety of top of the line brands, such as Eno, Merrel, Camelbak, and Patagonia. You’ll find a wide selection of high-quality camping, hiking, and backpacking gear and the latest gadgets, and they’ll order items you’re searching for but don’t see in the store. There is a large selection of sporty and casual clothing, shoes, sunglasses, and more that can also be comfortably worn off the trail, too.

More than just a shop, Walkabout Outfitters is committed to sharing their love for the outdoors. Not only do they host workshops, presentations, and group hikes, they are also committed to fostering a true community.
