One of Harrisonburg’s newest dining destinations, Montpelier’s Restaurant and Bar is housed within Hotel Madison in downtown Harrisonburg. With renowned Chef Tripp Yeargin at the helm, Montpelier offers a menu that reflects both his southern roots and modern cuisine. At breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner, you’ll find classic southern ingredients and dishes like deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, country ham, fried chicken, southern ribs, and shrimp & grits. In keeping with a farm-to-table philosophy, Chef Tripp serves fresh cuts of beef from Seven Hills Meats.
Montpelier Restaurant frequently hosts special events, like a Mother’s Day brunch, Valentine’s dinner, and Taste of Downtown. But you don’t have to wait for a special event to roll around: Social Hour happens every Tuesday – Thursday from 5 – 6:30pm and features a selection of $7 appetizers, half price all glasses of wine and select bottles of house wine, $2 all draft and bottled beers and rail drinks, a Bartender’s Choice cocktail for $7, the famous Montpelier Whiskey Ginger for $7, and the popular Friendly City Fizz for five bucks.
You can host your own special event or private party at Montpelier Restaurant and Bar by reserving the Dolley Madison Room. And a few other features make this a favorite place for many: there’s a charging port at every seat; there’s a communal table in the center in the center of the restaurant; and there’s some informal, casual seating between the bar and the dining room.
Montpelier Restaurant and Bar is open Monday 6:30am – 2pm; Tuesday through Thursday 6:30am – 2pm and 5pm – 10pm; Friday and Saturday 6:30am – 2pm and 5pm – 11pm (late night menu starts at 9pm); and Sunday 7am – 2pm, with brunch starting at 10am.
