Since 2003, Explore More Discovery Museum has been delighting the kids of Harrisonburg and beyond with its clever, interactive, multisensory exhibits and programs. Once inside this three-story, 33,000 square-foot, fully accessible space, you’ll be drawn to the whimsical Discovery Store, where you’ll find gifts for kids and kids-at-heart that are both fun and educational. Among the nearly twenty exhibits are CK’s Kitchen and Farmer’s Market, the Keva Plank Construction Zone, the Friendly City Medical Center, and the fan-favorite WHSV TV Studio. Kids can also get their STEM on in the interactive Science Lab and explore their artistic side in the Virginia Theater and Art Smart Studio! Not to be left out, little ones under the age of three can enjoy two spaces designed just for them: Wonderwoods and Over In the Meadow.
New to the Explore More Discovery Museum is Maker City Maker Space, where kids 8 and older can use materials and technology like laser cutters and 3D printers to make sophisticated products. Anchoring the entire museum is the beloved Discovery Tree with a 22-foot high tree house containing a world of fun activities.
