Benny’s is known for their incredible 28” pies, which they claim are large enough to feed two whole families. Not to worry for those who can’t handle such an enormous meal, they also sell pizza by the slice, although the slices alone are so large they have to be served on two plates. Their menu features classics like cheese, pepperoni, and sausage, while their specials spice things up with new and fresh offerings like pulled pork and jalapeños or garlic mushroom. They also offer a wide variety of drinks ranging from every soda imaginable, lemonades, teas, and juices to a list of domestic beers and ever-changing local ones.
Benny’s prides themselves on the freshness of their ingredients, sourcing them from farms across the United States. Their sauce is made from tomatoes grown in Sierra Nevada, CA, and their dough is made from flour sourced from Midwestern farms.
Their space is truly a college-town destination. With massive murals covering their walls, painted by artist BMBPRF, the restaurant is vibrant and inviting. They also have vintage barrels serving as tabletops and a portrait of James Madison himself, modified a little of course.
A true college town staple, Benny’s is open late, promising fresh pies, making it a great after-hours spot.
