Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance is now accepting applications for the David F Denman Façade Enhancement Grant program. We have $10,000 to grant this year thanks to the Friendly City Fortune. This is a 50/50 matching grant that can be applied toward a building improvement, landscaping, or sign project in our Main Street revitalization district. Grant amounts will not exceed $5,000.
All applicants must notify HDR by emailing Andrea Dono of their intent to apply first. Interested businesses or property owners will be asked to participate in a meeting with the HDR Design Committee to discuss their ideas. Applications submitted without going through this consultation will not be reviewed. Applications will be due April 17, 2019 so please contact HDR soon!
The number of grants allocated and the size of each award will be determined by the quality and potential impact of all proposed projects. We are seeking to award grants that will have a meaningful economic impact on the district. Due to the amount of interest, we expect that this will be a competitive grant round and do not anticipate being able to award a grant to each applicant.
