We are all excited for a big meal on Thanksgiving Thursday but the next day are we really all obligated to buy buy buy? Instead of spending Friday afternoon shopping, join us downtown for a community trash cleanup! The 3rd annual Green Friday will take place in downtown Harrisonburg on Black Friday, November 25th from 1-3 pm at the Ice House, 217 N Liberty St right in front of Pale Fire Brewing.
Earth Day Every Day is proud to host this event for the third year in a row, it’s a great opportunity to get out and help our community and clean our Earth. We will provide trash bags, gloves, and trash grabbers. To participate: come to the table set up outside Pale Fire Brewing and get the materials. You’ll then search for trash all around the downtown area. I guarantee you’ll find some. (Those at the table also can suggest locations.) There is always trash in and around Blacks Run, so if you want to take that optional path be sure to wear high, waterproof boots. After you’re done you’ll bring your trash bag back to us so we can dispose of it properly. Remember to dress for the weather.
