Clay Jenkins has been a member of the Jazz Studies faculty at the Eastman School of Music since 2000. He has been in demand as a performer and studio recording musician on the Los Angeles scene since the 1970s, when he also toured with the big bands of Buddy Rich and the Count Basie Orchestra. He is a charter member of the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, with whom he continues to perform and record to this day. Clay has performed on over one hundred recordings, and has released seven recordings as a leader. He plays Edwards trumpets and is a performing artist for The Edwards Instrument Company.
