Annual Blacks Run Clean Up Day and Arbor Day Tree Planting

RSVP on this event to join the Sage Bird team on Saturday, April 15 as they help the city clean up downtown for the Annual Blacks Run Clean Up Day and Arbor Day Tree Planting event.

Day of Event Details:

• Beginning at 9:00am
  • Gather at Sage Bird and we will walk to the Green Scene, the grassy lot beside Turner Pavilion, to gather our Clean-up Day materials and enjoy visiting booths with environmental experts from around the area.
  • We will be given a Green Scene Passport upon arrival. Check off all Green Scene Passport locations (you can do this anytime before 11:00am) and enter your Passport in a Raffle for a prize! The Green Scene Passport winner will be announced at the Pizza Party at lunchtime.
• 9:30am-11:00am Clean Up
  • The prizes don’t stop there! After visiting the Green Scene, we will journey to our cleanup location.
  • During our cleanup, we can participate in a Social Media Photo Contest! There will be a prize for individuals who photograph the following:
    • Most Enthusiastic Group
    • Largest Item
    • Largest Group
    • Weirdest Object
  • To participate in the Social Media Photo Contest, you may do one of the following:
    • Tag @harrisonburgpublicworks on Facebook
    • Tag @hbgpublicworks on Instagram
    • Use the hashtag #BRCD2023 on your Facebook or Instagram post
• 11:30am Lunch
  • After we have completed our cleanup, we can join up back at the Green Scene at Turner Pavilion for the lunchtime Pizza Party.
  • All registered participants will receive free pizza!
• 12:00pm After Clean-Up Social at Sage Bird
  • Any Blacks Run Cleanup Participant gets $1 off cider with wristband!
  • Join our Sage Bird team and get your first cider for $1 !!
  • First 50 guests get a free crab apple seedling
  • Live Music 1-3pm in our parking lot with Song Kitchen
