The music lineup for the 2024 Levitt AMP Harrisonburg Music Series is out now!

Thank you to our community of volunteers for helping select the headlining artists for this year’s music series. We are excited to bring another diverse line-up of artists to downtown Harrisonburg!

The Levitt AMP Harrisonburg Music Series is supported in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, which partners with changemakers and nonprofits across the country to activate underused outdoor spaces through the power of free, live music—bringing people together, fostering belonging, and invigorating community life. Presenting high-caliber talent and a broad array of music genres and cultural programming, Levitt concerts are welcoming and inclusive destinations where people of all ages and backgrounds come together.

In 2024, the national Levitt network of music venues and concert sites is presenting 650+ free concerts in 45 towns and cities, with audiences over 750,000. In addition to supporting free concerts, the Levitt Foundation is dedicated to advancing equitable music ecosystems through research and partnerships. www.levitt.org

Lowdown Brass Band | Wednesday, June 26 from 6 – 8 PM

Brass/Hip Hop/Soul

Embodying the vibrant Chicago music culture, LowDown Brass Band is a one-of-a-kind horn ensemble weaving the rhythm of the streets with conscious hip hop, reggae, and soul.  Rigorously touring, LowDown has performed on the most unique stages, from the Montreal Jazz Fest to the Cotai Jazz Fest.

Yam Yam with Florencia & The Feeling | Friday, July 5 from 6 – 9 PM

 

Main Act: Yam Yam

Jazz Funk

Yam Yam is dedicated to exploring and creating beautiful music together. The members bring a diverse range of influences to the group, including jazz, gospel, jam, and funk. Michael Dempsey plays piano and organ with a focus on jazz, gospel, and New Orleans boogie, while Xander Moppin provides the foundation of funk on bass. Tyler (Kokko) Fuller brings the pocket to the drums, and brother Tom Fuller adds his  groove and ethereal and psychedelic soloing on guitar. Then finally, is the virtuous saxophone playing of Jason Mescia, bringing influence from Eddie Harris and John Coltrane among others. Together, they create a high energy, soulful, and psychedelic sound that is sure to get fans moving. The band had its start in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and has since traveled throughout the U.S., bringing their music to wherever listeners may be.

Pop-Funk Fusion

Florencia Rusiñol is a Latin American singer-songwriter from East Tennessee. Her musical style is influenced by her Argentinian roots and her jazz-singing background, and is combined with her love of pop and funk music. Florencia’s first EP is available on all music streaming platforms. Florencia & the Feeling have spent 2021 touring the Southeast. The Feeling is the name given to the group of incredibly talented musicians assembled to play with Florencia. The name refers to the captivating & carefree energy that flows from the stage at each and every concert.

Radio Free Honduras | Wednesday, July 10 from 6 – 8 PM

Latin Folk Rock

Radio Free Honduras is a Chicago-based band led by Honduran musician Charlie Baran, offering a vibrant mix of Latin folk, rock, and blues. The group’s music is a lively fusion of traditional Latin rhythms, intricate guitar work, and energetic rock elements, creating an infectious and danceable sound. Their performances are renowned for their warmth and high energy, attracting audiences with a captivating mix of cultural and modern influences. With their unique style and passionate musicianship, Radio Free Honduras has become a standout in the Chicago music scene, earning a dedicated following.

Roberta Lea is a Virginia-based singer-songwriter who blends country, folk, and R&B to create a unique sound. Tré Burt | Wednesday, September 11 from 6 – 8 PM

Tré Burt is an American singer-songwriter and folk musician known for his soulful voice and introspective storytelling. Based in California, he emerged with a style that combines traditional folk, blues, and Americana. His signing with Oh Boy Records, the label founded by John Prine, brought him wider recognition. When is the Levitt AMP Harrisonburg Music Series happening?

The Levitt AMP Harrisonburg Music Series will take place Wednesdays from 6 – 8 PM, beginning on June 26 and ending on September 11 with a special Friday concert date on July 5 before Harrisonburg’s Independence Day fireworks. (there will not be a show on July 3, July 24, or August 28).

Can I bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to this event?

Yes! The lawn will be open for attendees to set up their own sitting area to enjoy the live music. Feel free to bring blankets, chairs, and other amenities. Limited chairs and seating will be available on-site for attendees with limited mobility.

Can I bring outside food to this event?

Yes, attendees are permitted to bring food with them to this event. Check out our food guide here for information about food available in Downtown Harrisonburg as well as food vendors that will be on site.

Will there be a beer garden at this event?

Yes, there will be a beer garden featuring a different downtown brewery or cidery each week. Learn more on our food guide page here. The Beer garden will open at 5:15 PM with last call being at 7:30 PM.

Can I bring outside alcohol to this event?

No, outside alcohol is not allowed at this event.

Are pets allowed at this event?

Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome and must remain under control of the owner at all times. If a dog becomes a nuisance, like bothering people seated near you or barking, you will be asked to take your dog away from the main seating area.

Will this event be ADA accessible?

This event will have four designated parking spots and an accessible viewing area for patrons that have have limited mobility. If you require van parking, or need additional accommodations, please contact us at least two days before the event so we can make necessary arrangements. Please see our parking map for additional accessible parking spots in Downtown Harrisonburg.

What happens if it is raining during a concert?

Concerts will be a rain or shine. Depending on rain forecasts, some shows may be moved under Turner Pavilion. High wind, hail, and lightning may force a delay or cancellation for the safety of our guests. Please follow our social media for real-time updates. In the event of lightning strikes near downtown, guests, volunteers, and staff will be asked to take shelter in their cars or indoors.

Bands and promoters can send booking inquiries to BookingLevittHVA@gmail.com. Please note – due to the high volume of emails, we will not be able to respond to all inquiries but our team will review all submissions. 

How did you come up with the list of final artists?

The list of artists is a compilation of suggestions sent to us by the public, inquiries made by talent agencies, and direct requests from artists. They are selected based on cost, proximity, tour schedule, and the parameters set forth by the Levitt Foundation regarding the need for a diverse line-up.
