HDR follows the Main Street Four Point Approach to revitalizing downtown. We create a destination through business assistance, event planning, design guidance, and marketing. We also award grants for facade enhancements, destination creation, and business marketing.

Downtown Harrisonburg's events calendar is always full. HDR contibutes with free community events, promotional events, and fundraising events throughout the year to showcase our unique downtown.
HDR is THE advocate for small business owners in the downtown historic district, working with both the city and businesses. Through open communication, offering educational and financial support and promotion, the businesses are at the heart of what we do.
With the help of wonderful volunteers HDR is leading the change of the downtown landscape. Big dreams of a new park and a more pedestrian friendly experience, we are working with very talented people to make these dreams a reality.
